The Under 11's were comprehensively defeated 6-2 by Sporting Springfields at Ashton Park. The Under 14's earned a superb 7-1 away victory against Walton-le-dale. The Under 9's weren't in action while the Under 10's have finished their league season. SCORE DRAW AGAINST TOP OF THE TABLE! 10th April 2010 - Hesketh Bank A 3-3 Leyland Athletic The 3rd string's improvement continues as the held top of the league to a credible home draw. ____________________________________________________________ HBAFC RECIEVES FA CHARTER STANDARD STATUS! 7th April 2010 - After months of administration Hesketh Bank AFC has finally been awarded FA Charter Standard Status. If you're thinking 'What is Charter Standard Status?' then read the short summary below courtesey of the FA. The Charter Standard Scheme is best practice guide that sets standards of coaching, administration and child protection for all clubs outside the Football League and Premier League. As a benchmark for quality, it will improve the playing experience for all. Below is an announcement from HABFC Chairman Paul Sergeant. As you are aware we have been awarded FA Charter Standard Club Status. We did apply for FA Charter Status as a development club but it appears that since our application last September to achieve development club status the rules have altered slightly. We can upgrade later this year but we need to attend a 4 day workshop regarding Junior development but the next course available in July is already fully booked so rather than wait until next Autumn the LFA awarded us Standard Status in the meantime. Once again well done to everyone and a reminder that we will be visited at matches at all levels in the next few weeks so best behaviour at all times!!! Therefore as the beaten quarter finalists we progress to the Semi-Final. Good luck to Vaughn Birkby and his men as they strive to win their first trophy since the Medals victory in 2006. ____________________________________________________________ INJURY CURSE OF MILNTHORPE STRIKES AGAIN! 3rd April 2010 - Milthorpe Corinthians Res 4-2 Hesketh Bank Res The second team's season is in danger of falling apart in its crucial final stages. This defeat against a stronger than usual Milnthorpe second team was made worse due to a serious leg injury to the re-signed veteran centre half Phil Ball. Phil's leg break is now the third such injury suffered by a Hesketh Bank Reserve team player at Milthorpe's Strand Road pitch. Our goal scorers on the day were Ben Goodson and John Ascroft.
