A-TEAM MAKE THE QUARTER-FINALS

Dave Ball and Chris Smith's A-Team made it into the hat for the last eight of the Preston and District leagues Shakespeare Cup with a solid 3-1 victory over Farington Villa. This season saw the return of Hesketh Bank's A-Team (3rd team) and while they struggle to make an impact in the league this is a step in the right direction.

HBAFC HOSTS THE BRITISH ARMY

ENGLAND 4-1 SCOTLAND

After the efforts of Morgan Dodgson and his team the Station Road pitch was cleared of snow and deemed fit to host this huge Army Quarter-Final. The game saw the English regiment come out 4-1 winners. The English regiment will play their Semi-Final at Station Road sometime in the near future.

FROSTY WEEKEND FOILS FIXTURE LIST

30th January 2010 - An early decision to postpone the first team's game against Cumbrian side Crookland Casuals was required due to our opponent's traveling time. The Reserves top of the table clash against Bolton outfit Stoneclough was called off close to 11.00am. The A Team also missed out on a fixture. Next weekend's fixtures are below. JAMES CLEGG LEAVES HBAFC

29th January 2010 - Left back James Clegg has parted company with the football club. He informed manager Vaughn Birkby of his decision earlier in the week. James or 'Cleggy' as he was popularly known won the player of the season award during his first season at the club. He has played a total of 64 games in the first team scoring one goal. On behalf of the football club we wish Cleggy all the best for the future and thank him for his service over the past 3 years.

ANOTHER LOST WEEKEND

16th January 2010- All fixtures in the West Lancashire League were once again for the second week running postponed. Next Saturday the 1st team host local rivals and high flyers Fleetwood Hesketh. This should be a competitive and fiesty encounter. Kick off is at 2.00pm.

Western Area North Football Cup Final 20 Dec 2009

8th January 2010 - Back in December HBAFC was proud to host teams from the British Army who competed for the Western Area Cup. Click here to read the match report from the final (where the club and 3g are praised for our efforts) and see some pictures from the game.

On behalf of HBAFC we wish all our troops the best of luck in the difficult job they do around the world. Thankyou to the Hesketh Bank locals who showed their support for the soldiers and we can't wait have them back at Station Road.

FUNDRAISING COMMITTEE

The club is looking to recruit a fundraising committee to be chaired by Executive Member David Seed. Several events are to be arranged in 2010 and beyond as the club looks to improve its facilities.

He will be holding the first Fundraising Committee Meeting in the Locker Room sometime next week.
