THE TORNADO TROPHY

This year the all new Junior Presentation day will include the inaugral Tornado Trophy Tournament. This small sided football tournament splits all our junior players into 4 squads that will compete against each other in age determined fixtures to decide the first ever Tornado Champions! Heres how it works...

THE SQUADS

The Tournament involves players from all junior teams split into 4 different squads - England, Spain, Brazil and Italy. The squads are selected by the junior team managers. Each junior manager will select their players for each squad e.g. Under 11's manager Tony Sergeant will select which of his players will go into which squad. The final squads will contain players from Under 7 all the way up to Under 14.

Each squad will be split into 3 teams depending on their age - The Minis (U7s - U8s), The Middles (U9s - U11s) and The Bigs (U14s). Each age range is allocated a pitch on the 3G All Weather surface.

THE CAPTAINS and COACHES

The manager of the Under 14s will select 4 of his players to become the squad captains. Each squad will also be assigned 3 coaches (to look after each of the three age ranges).

ROUND ROBIN

Each team will represent their squad in their age range. Teams play as many round robin games as they can fit into 30 minutes. Teams recieve 3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw and 0 points for a loss.

At the end of the 30 minutes the points from each age range are combined together to determine an overall score e.g. Spain's points from the Minis, the Middles and the Bigs combined equals 21.

The squads finishing 1st and 2nd will play each other in the final. The squads finishing 3rd and 4th will play each other in a 3rd placed playoff.

THE FINAL

Both the final and the 3rd placed play-off will take the form of a 15 minute game. The game is split into 3 equal sections, each section is played by each age range e.g. The first 5 minutes are played between the Minis, the second 5 minutes the middles and the the final 5 minutes the bigs. The score is carried over from each section.
