FUTURE AIMS
Looking to the future the club has exciting plans to provide the community of Hesketh Bank with an all-weather floodlit pitch, a community hall suitable for a variety of occasions and new changing rooms. Thanks to the intervention of Isherwood Developments and owner Mark Atkinson this is now being brought to reality and they have recently finished the tremendous all-weather 3G floodlit pitch and this is now open for bookings. They are now concentrating on the rest of the development which will hopefully be completed during 2009.
As we continue to develop Station Road the ultimate goal for the club is to move up through the football pyramid. This means putting plans in place to one day move up into the North West Counties league like other past West Lancs leagues clubs such as Kirkham & Wesham (AFC Fylde) and Nelson.
With the first team representing the village in a county league, the club is well known throughout Lancashire & Cumbria. Its annual Medals' competition has been running every season since 1921, and over the last few years in conjunction with Preston North End and Everton FC the highly successful Mini Soccer School held every Saturday morning has grown from strength to strength.
In Hesketh Bank AFC the village has not only the largest sporting organisation but also a club it can be proud of, catering for all age groups. Come along and be part of that club either by joining the various committees or just supporting the teams, you will be made very welcome. |
