LATEST NEWS SEMI-FINAL POSTPONED AND RESCHEDULED 6th April 2010 - Tonight's Presidents Cup semi-final tie Slyne with Hest v Hesketh Bank has been postponed due to a water logged pitch at the neutral venue of Bruce Park (home of Premier Division side Blackpool Wren Rovers). Therefore as the beaten quarter finalists we progress to the Semi-Final. Good luck to Vaughn Birkby and his men as they strive to win their first trophy since the Medals victory in 2006. ____________________________________________________________ INJURY CURSE OF MILNTHORPE STRIKES AGAIN! 3rd April 2010 - Milthorpe Corinthians Res 4-2 Hesketh Bank Res The second team's season is in danger of falling apart in its crucial final stages. This defeat against a stronger than usual Milnthorpe second team was made worse due to a serious leg injury to the re-signed veteran centre half Phil Ball. Phil's leg break is now the third such injury suffered by a Hesketh Bank Reserve team player at Milthorpe's Strand Road pitch. Our goal scorers on the day were Ben Goodson and John Ascroft. The club wishes Phil Ball a speedy recovery and hopefully we'll see him in a Hesketh Bank shirt before his playing days are over. ____________________________________________________________ MID-LANCS COLTS LEAGUE TABLES UPDATED 31st March 2010 - The league tables for our teams in the Mid-Lancs Colts Junior League (Under 9's and Under 10's) have been updated. The Final of the tournament will be played at Aldershot Town's EBB Stadium ____________________________________________________________ MID-WEEK CLASH V BURNLEY UNITED 22nd March 2010 - On Wednseday 24th March the first team travel to Burnley United in a rearranged fixture from last Saturday. Vaughn Birkby will be hoping to improve on the 2-2 draw the teams played out at Station Road only 3 weeks ago. ____________________________________________________________ JUNIOR ROUND UP 22nd March 2010 - The Under 10's finished their league campaign with a well earned away victory at Springfields, goals came from Clayton, Jones (2) and Hughes. The Under 11's earned themselves a fair draw in a 2-2 result against Fishwick Rangers. The Under 14's came back from two nil down to draw 2-2 in a heated affair against Deepdale Juniors. Stuart Clayton's Under 10 team were narrowly defeated 2-0 away at Ribbleton. The Under 11's played yet another of the top three sides and where defeated in a spirited effort 7-0. The Under 14's were beaten at Shore Road by two goals to one.
